Horror film adaptation of a classic folktale, HANASAKA JIISAN (Literal Translation: "The Old Man Who Made Frowers Bloom") passed down in Japan for hundreds of years.

[Synopsis]

In a suburban village, an honest old man lives happily with his beloved wife and his dog Haru. However, there is a mean old man, Toraji, who lived next door, and they are a bizarre and perverted man who keeps kidnapping and murdering people one after another. Eventually, the mean old man kills Haru and burns him to ashes. When the honest old man learns of this and sadly takes Haru's ashes in his hands, he turns into a monster of revenge and vows to strike back at the Toraji.
