[Synopsis]

In the year of 2036 AD, Miyuki, who suffers from selective mutism, a condition that causes her to lose her voice when she becomes nervous, works as an administrative staff member at the Artificial Collapse Research Institute, which conducts research on artificial black holes. One day, Professor Akagi succeeds in manipulating the flow of time and creates a “bobble space.” She then announces that she will commit a “Time Crime” in three hours to exact revenge on humanity.

As time slows down across the globe and human life grinds to a halt, Miyuki, who narrowly escapes the “bobble space,” resolves to rescue Aoi, an associate professor at the institute and the only one holding the key to solving this unprecedented crisis, from the Bobble Space. As the world continues to collapse due to the relentless emergence of Bobble Spaces, can humanity prevent its own extinction?

[Director's Statement]

Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by special effects films such as Godzilla and Ultraman. These films are not merely entertainment; they have helped me recognize various issues in modern society. In this film, “When You Wish Upon a Black Hole,” I aimed to incorporate contemporary themes while maintaining the special effects genre as the foundation. The project began on July 29, 2016, and after eight years of effort, it has finally been completed. I hope you will enjoy this.
