[Synopsis]

Yuki, who is blind, and her husband Ken, who is deaf, have kept their distance from each other. One day, they decided to participate in a clinical experiment to see if they could overcome their disabilities in the virtual reality world. Even though they are asleep in the real world, when they wake up in the virtual reality world, Yuki is able to see and Ken is able to hear. In this world where they encounter strange events, they soon begin to feel each other's presence.

 

[Director’s Statement]

In the spring of 2023, I planned this film on the theme of AI because I felt that AI would make great strides; it would not only solve all the problems of our lives, but it would also change the very way we will live in the future. The characters in this film are a visually impaired and a hearing impaired, and the depiction of a virtual reality world could be realized within a few years. People may have their own ideas about whether technological innovation is a good thing or not.

At the same time, the film itself was produced using AI whenever possible. The script was written entirely by AI, and the film was shot in Vietnam. At that time, the quality of AI-generated images was still low, so the characters were not created by AI, and only some scenery was generated by AI. All audio, dialogue, and the ending theme music were created by AI. Later, in the summer of 2024, when AI had evolved, it became possible to make a film using only AI, and I would like to try that again in the next film.
